As 2025 opens, lovers of Beethoven’s “Archduke” will eagerly await the return of the Gryphon Trio! Canadian artist James Campbell, called “a national treasure” by CBC, joins the trio for the CMH premiere of Quartet for the End of Time, a seminal chamber work of the 20th century, completed while Messiaen was a prisoner of war in Silesia (now Poland) — an ambitious work that suggest the end of Past and Future, and the beginning of Eternity.
