This cmh@home program features the many musical talents of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. The beautiful online concert experience includes Intermission conversations with CMS Artists and Co-Artistic Directors David Finckel and Wu Han and the artists during intermission.

This program of International Voices features French, Czech and Russian compositions from Ibert, Janáček and Rachmaninov — all written in the 20th century with distinct flavors of their culturally rich origins. Jacques Ibert’s Trois pièces brèves for wind instruments is a delightful and thoughtful arrangement from 1930. Next, Leoš Janáček’s Pohádka (Fairy Tale) for Cello and Piano reflects the magical world of fable in this story of a man who must battle the devil while falling in love with the devil’s daughter. Finally, Serge Rachmaninov’s Symphonic Dances for Two Pianos, written in 1940 with the emotions of a lifetime, is truly a remarkable performance.
